A retired Lebanese army general says Turkey is supporting terrorist groups against the Kurds in Syria as Ankara is fearful of their union with the Kurdish state of Iraq, Press TV reports.

“There is no doubt that Turkey is supporting the al-Nusra and al-Qaeda and all of the Jihadist groups against the Kurds because Turkey is really afraid that this region of the Kurds will later move into a mini-state and will be connected to the Kurdish state of Iraq and also it will present a major and real threat to the unity of Turkey,” Hisham Jaber said.

He added that the Kurds are currently united and seek to achieve self-governance in their region and drive out all extremist Jihadists.

Jaber noted that the Kurds’ fight against al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front does not target the Syrian government.

Arabic-language al-Alam News Network reported early this month that the foreign-backed militants fighting the Syrian government attacked Tal Abyad district of Raqqa governorate in Kurdish-populated northern Syria, killing 330 women and elderly men as well as 120 children.

The massacre came a week after al-Nusra militants attacked two Kurdish villages in Aleppo and took around 200 civilians hostage.

Fighting between Kurdish militia and al-Qaeda-linked groups has been escalating in north and northeastern Syria after Kurdish fighters, who are opposed to foreign interference in Syria, managed to push back militants from several positions in the area.

On July 30, a powerful Kurdish militia said it is mobilizing against al-Qaeda-linked militant groups in northeastern Syria after a Kurdish opposition leader was killed in the area.

Jaber further ruled out the possibility of Israel’s attack on Syria due to its “catastrophic” consequences.

“I do not think that Israel will interfere physically or militarily besides some airstrikes that they used back in some time, and they may make it later but they will not invade Syria in any circumstances because it will be catastrophic for them,” Jaber said.

A report published by Russia Today on July 15 revealed that the Israeli regime used a Turkish military base to launch one of its airstrikes that targeted depots in Syria’s port city of Latakia on July 5.

On May 5, Syria said the Israeli regime had carried out an airstrike targeting a research center in a suburb of Damascus, following heavy losses of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups by the Syrian army. According to Syrian media reports, Israeli rockets struck the Jamraya Research Center.

The Tel Aviv regime has launched attacks on Syria several times since the beginning of 2013.

Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since 2011. According to reports, Western powers and their regional allies – especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey – are supporting the Takfiri militants operating inside Syria.

According to the United Nations, more than 100,000 people have been killed and a total of 7.8 million displaced in Syria due to the violence.

Al-Nusra Front battle against PKK near Turkey-Syria border‎ +video

As fighting continues between foreign-backed militants and Syrian troops, neighboring countries seem to be dragged into the confrontation. The Turkish government has been a key ally to al-Nusra Front fighting against the Syrian army.

In a new development the P-Y-D — a Syrian political branch of the P-K-K– has taken control of the town of Ras al-Ain on Syria’s northeastern border , from al-Nusra Front. The two engaged in battle with each other and some bullets that reached Turkish soil killed a boy.

However, members of the main Turkish opposition Party have said it is actually just the opposite and that Turkey seeks for any reason to start a ground invasion in Syria.

C-H-P Lawmaker Faruk Logoglu said on Friday that the AK Party is after foreign intervention in Syria and is trying, by any means, to create a de facto situation to that end.” He also accused the government of pursuing an unrealistic foreign policy and acting in a partisan way in the Syrian crisis. Directly referencing to al- Nusra front, Logoglu also urged “the A-K-P government to end the support for radical groups fighting the Syrian government. In a similar development, senior officials of the B-D-P, the political wing of the P-K-K, expressed similar comments and have sternly warned Ankara against its support for al-Nusra front.

In the mean time, the Turkish army has beefed up security at its borders with Syria and Turkish troops shot at P-Y-D fighters after two rocket-propelled grenades fired from Syria hit a border post on the Turkish side of the frontier.

The idea of the Syrian conflict spilling over into Turkey’s soil has reached somewhat a new level. Ankara and the Kurdistan’s Workers party reached a historic peace agreement in March. Now the P-K-K and the Al-Qaeda-linked Al Nusra front are at odds or even better to say AT WAR with each other.

The political wing of the P-K-K has said the fact that assailant gangs affiliated with the al-Nusra front are supported by Turkish government is quote ” increasing our concerns.” This, as several soldiers patrolling Turkey border with Syria have been wounded by unknown gunmen.

Syrian army starts “North storm” to save Aleppo

Watch video

Syrian army has completely surrounded Andan and Nubbul in north of Aleppo as it goes on with its operation to save the province from terrorist groups, most of them infiltrating from Turkey.
According to al-Alam correspondent, the army has started its operation in the area, which is one of the most important militants’ strongholds near Turkey borders.
The army is preparing to attack militant strongholds in the towns of al-Zahra, Hayyan, Tell Rifaat and A’zaz in north of Aleppo.
The operation is code-named North Storm.
Rocket attacks were reported in Nubbul which according to reports left at least 6 people dead and several injured.
A Qatari militant named Ali al-Ansari from terrorist al-Nusra Front was killed in clashes near Mennigh airport.
Terrorist groups entered the two towns of Nubbul and al-Zahra at the beginning of the insurgency in March 2011, but in July 2012 they completely blocked the area letting no food, medicine and supplies to enter. No one could leave the area or enter as well.
In May, a group of a thousand people tried to break the siege, but they were faced with terrorists who attacked the group brutally and killed and arrested many of them.
They beheaded 10 men and hung their heads at the entrance of the area so that no one else would run.
More than 50 thousand people live in these two towns while after the crisis broke out some 15000 people also migrated and set camp in there.
There are daily reports of abduction and killing of citizens in the area by terrorist groups who often film their crimes and post them on the internet.
It is estimated that at least 10 thousand terrorist are currently occupying the towns.
Army is extending its operations in Aleppo which has been scene of vicious killings, abduction and torture of citizens throughout the crisis.
As the government in Syria is struggling with a massive foreign-backed insurgency, US, Britain and their allies are pushing hard to arm the militant groups so that they topple the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Pushed by Britain and France, the European Union recently lifted an arms embargo on militants fighting in Syria, raising risks of extending the bloody insurgency in Syria as well as the whole region.

Watch Video

John McCain’s Secret visit with Syrian Rebels just keeps getting more interesting. You Probably remember a few  weeks ago When McCain, one of the fiercest critics of the Obama administration’s Syria policy, made the unannounced visit across the Turkey-Syria border with Gen. Salem Idris, the leader of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army. He stayed in the country for several hours before returning to Turkey.

Both in Syria and Turkey, McCain and Idris met with assembled leaders of Free Syrian Army units that traveled from around the country to see the U.S. senator. Inside those meetings, rebel leaders called on the United States to step up its support to the Syrian armed opposition and provide them with heavy weapons, a no-fly zone, and airstrikes on the Syrian Army and the forces of Hezbollah, which is increasingly active in Syria.Later It was reported that Two of the men photographed with good’ole Johnny were Kidnappers, who had snatched up 11 Lebanese pilgrims near Lebanon’s border with Syria.

Now a fresh new report is out that one of the other guys in the photo’s is Mouaz Moustafa, executive director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force,an American nonprofit that helped organize the McCain trip.
